Van Nguyen is a board-certified Physician Assistant specializing in general orthopedics, sports and regenerative medicine. Born and raised in a small province in Central Vietnam, he came to the United States when he was ten years old with his parents and three older siblings, and has lived in the D.C Metropolitan area ever since. Van attended Montgomery Community College before earning his Bachelor of Science degree and PA certification on an academic scholarship from Howard University. His clinical experiences include both surgical and non-surgical management of a wide variety of musculoskeletal injuries, overuse conditions, and chronic pain conditions, in patients of all ages from pediatric to geriatric. After obtaining his PA certification and licenses, Van worked locally providing care for patients throughout the Metropolitan area. He has provided medical coverage for the 2018 Masters USA Track and Field Championship event at PG Sportplex in Prince George County. He was part of the medical staff for the Washington Spirit Professional Women's soccer team from 2015 to 2018. Recently, he partnered with a group of doctors to open an orthopedic office here in Germantown, MD. He is looking forward to giving back and serving his Montgomery County community utilizing his orthopedic skills. Van came to appreciate sports medicine through his own athletic activities. In his free time, he plays flag football and soccer year-round, and enjoys traveling, snowboarding, hiking, weight training, and yoga. As an athlete himself, he fully understands and empathizes with the physical and mental pain his patients go through when it comes to injuries. Van's goal is to offer his patients the most up-to-date, unbiased opinions while providing the highest quality of care so they can stay active and pain free.
